Dr. Kevin M. Segal, Chiropractic Physician is the clinic director and owner of Back In Shape Chiropractic and has been serving the Milwaukie and Portland area since 2001.
Dr. Segal's first priority is to help his patients acheive their intial goals of being pain-free and moving better. However, he is committed to more than a "quick-fix" approach, teaching his patients how to acheive their optimal health with a "whole person approach". This approach to wellness means looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruptions (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) in the body, and suggesting interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this approach, Dr. Segal is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.
When he is not helping patients to feel their best, Dr. Segal spends time with his family and enjoying many outdoor activities, including biking, kayaking, and hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. When the weather is not as nice, he can frequently be seen at an area 24 Hour Fitness working out. In fact, he used to be a personal Fitness trainer, helping his clients to get strong, flexible, and maintain a healthy weight.
He is originally from the New York City suburbs, where he grew up and later completed his Bachelor's degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. After spending a few years working in the pharmaceutical industry and realizing he wanted to do something more meaningful to him in healthcare, he moved to Portland to attend Western States Chiropractic College and graduated from there in 2001. He started his practice as a chiropractor in Milwaukie immediately after graduating and has been at this location ever since, helping many people in the community. He has been happily married for over 17 years and has two children, Isaac and Olivia who are the joy of his life(most of the time). He also loves playing and hiking with his chocolate-colored Australian Labradoodle named Luna. Luna was supposed to be the office pet or therapy dog, but it turned out she loves people a bit too much, constantly trying to paw at everyone and get them to be her best friend.
